Consulate Development Group

Consulate Development Group (CDG) is a family-owned business that was established over 45 years ago. As industry leaders based in Mississauga, they have worked on some of the best and most established communities in the Greater Toronto Area.

They are known to create developments in urban communities and have provided homes for Canadian newcomers and long-time residents. Their goal is to build communities where people can live, work and play in one location.

CDG is owned by brothers John Sorokolit and William Sorokolit Jr. Their father, William Sorokolit Sr., started the company in the 1960’s when he settled in the city of Mississauga.

At the time, the city didn’t have much there but William saw the potential for growth in the area and started acquiring pieces of land to develop residential and commercial properties. In between this time, the family owned and managed Central Parkway Mall.

In the past 40 years, the mall has changed to keep up with the competition from Square One Shopping Centre. To keep up with the changes of the growing market, the Sorokolit family had to create their own identity in the mall so they added a grocery store, movie theatre, drug store, and services such as medical and dental. With the success of the Central Parkway Mall, the developer began developing master-planned communities in the surrounding area of Mississauga.

They also expanded to building residential high-rises in Florida and commercial buildings in Canada. Despite their success, they have always gravitated back to building residential communities and are currently focusing on three projects in Niagara, Collingwood and Mississauga.

New Condo Developments By Consulate Development Group

Their project in Collingwood known as Bridgewater on Gerogian Bay will be built on 312 acres of underdeveloped land and will have 1,200 homes surrounded by a nature preserve. CDG partnered with a local environment group that agreed that the land and waterfront should be served as a sanctuary and preserved for generations to come.

This masterplan will consist of single-family homes, townhouses and mid-rise condominiums in a village-style development. On the nature preserve residents will be able to enjoy scenic walking trails, boardwalks, fire pits and beautiful views of the waterfront.

This developer has a team of skilled tradesmen and professionals such as planners, architects, engineers and designers that bring their projects to life. They build thoughtfully-crafted homes that are eco-friendly and designed for efficiency and sustainability.

With CDG’s growing success, they have no plans to slow down. They are expecting to build over 3,000 homes within the next several years and are always looking for opportunities to build new communities.
