Westbank Corp

Westbank Corp was established in Vancouver and they strive to be a different kind of builder. Upon examining their pursuits, it becomes obvious that this is not a typical developer as they aim to create projects with high degrees of artistry.
Their unusual methods have garnered a lot of attention and they have become a tremendously successful company who has developments and offices all over the world. Their commitment to artistry is further demonstrated through their investments and commissions of art installations across the globe.

Westbank is dedicated to creating beautiful developments and being a city builder. They are an atypical real estate enterprise, and it starts with their approach. Most developers look at projects rather simply. They acquire the land, then they make a proposal, revise, break ground, etc.
This developer sees their job as bringing together elements that are seemingly disparate in order to complete their vision. Their goal is to complete developments with a high degree of artistry that will help build equitable and beautiful cities. As they continue to grow and build on their experiences, they continue to become a more ambitious, complex, and far reaching company.
This developer has been monumentally successful. They have offices across the globe in cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Seattle, Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen. They have a diverse portfolio with properties in luxury residential projects, five star hotels, affordable housing initiatives, public art, and district energy systems.

In fact, they own and operate Vancouver’s district energy system, and through this they’re able to limit the city’s carbon footprint. They are also the world’s largest LEED Platinum developer. They are a versatile company as some of their projects are comprised of millions of square feet, but are also able to complete much smaller projects. To date they have $25 billion in projects that are either completed or are in various stages of development.
This developer has a longstanding commitment to artistry, and it can be seen in every one of their projects, but this commitment has transcended real estate development.
It’s true that they create developments that serve as catalysts for larger change, but they also commission public art installations by some of the world’s most renowned artists. It’s because they see themselves as a vehicle for movement and cultural expression. They currently have 30 installations throughout the world that are either completed or in various stages of completion.
They are an award winning developer and have recently received accolades for their TELUS Garden project. This development won big at the Architizer A+ Awards having won the jury and popular vote for the Office High Rise category.
Westbank has transcended the realm of simply being a real estate developer. They see themselves as city builders and agents of culture and change throughout the world. They have been tremendously successful and have built different types of projects across the globe. Their philosophy and key to their success is their unwavering dedication to artistry, culture, and beauty, and it’s been recognized by their peers. As they continue to expand and build in Toronto, we’re excited to see how they will bring their influential artistry to the city’s skyline.
