The community is slated to occupy a fantastic location at 1095 Leslie Street, just north of Eglinton Avenue, which is currently having an LRT line built across it. An ambitious development, it will eventually consist of three condominium towers, ranging from 28 to 39 storeys. This will make for 1,380 residential units, including 815 one-bedroom suites and 565 two-bedroom suites, some of them with airy, two-storey layouts. Additionally, the community will feature 20 townhomes, each reaching three storeys and containing three bedrooms.
All the units will have access to an underground parking lot with 1,246 spaces. The proposal calls for a new public street through the site, as well as landscaped pathways, making for a friendly, sustainable neighbourhood where getting around is a breeze.
Architectural firm Graziani + Corazza has is designing the towers, a firm with a prolific portfolio of stylish condominium buildings to their name. Renderings for Auberge on The Park show a series of contemporary, modular buildings with varying stepbacks that allow for pockets greenspace. This gives the entire community a fresh, modern look that will likely become a focal point for the neighbourhood.
Auberge On The Park : A Nature Rich Environment Just North of the City
The Don Mills neighbourhood is an exciting place to call home and continues to experience some contemporary developments, while maintaining a nature-rich environment that feels removed from the congestion of downtown.
One of the site’s biggest perks is probably its proximity to Sunnybrook Park, which sits just south of the project. Spanning 147 acres, the lush park has endless cycling and strolling paths, dog parks, picnic sites, even a horseback-riding facility. The park also houses the Toronto Botanical Gardens, a stunning and picturesque place to spend an afternoon.
The site is also close to the Don River, which is surrounded by parkland, conservation areas and a network of cycling and walking trails. Besides the greenspace and endless recreation opportunities, the neighbourhood also houses the upscale Shops at Don Mills, which features high-end retailers, salons, restaurants, entertainment options and a 24-hour Metro grocery store.
If education is your thing, the development is close to reputable schools, as well as the Ontario Science Center. The Aga Khan Museum, one of Toronto’s contemporary architectural and cultural landmarks, is also a short drive away.
This is also an idea site for commuters of all types. Access to the Don Valley Parkway makes driving into the city or elsewhere in the region a breeze, while the upcoming Eglinton LRT (which will include a station just steps away from the condominium development) will make public transit commutes equally efficient.
