Toronto’s Regent Park revitalization is like nothing the city has seen before. In 2002, the developers partnered with Toronto Community Housing to transform the Regent Park area, nearly 70 acres immediatly east of the downtown core. The plan’s initial phase, occupying several blocks at the southeast corner of Dundas Street East and Parliament, mostly concentrated on condominium towers and townhomes, which replaced a series of dilapidated housing projects.

The master-planned community now comprises three phases, including a mix of high-rises, mid-rises, townhomes and unparalleled community facilities. Several phases also include rental housing. This rapidly-growing neighbourhood now offers something for everyone, from young professionals to growing families. The development features fun – and functional – amenities that put residents first in a trendy downtown location where every urban convenience imaginable is at your fingertips.

Regent’s Park most recently launched condominium is The Wyatt, a 27-storey tower near River Street and Dundas Street East. Like many buildings by The Daniels Corporation, it features upscale finishes, rich flooring, open-concept floorplans and a variety of unit styles, including studios, one, two and three-bedroom. The Wyatt has some amazing amenities, including an indoor rock-climbing wall and a fully-equipped fitness studio that features WELLBEATS technology. This technology allows you to work out with a professional instructor virtually in a range of classes, from kickboxing to pilates. In addition to typical condominium amenities like a party room, outdoor terrace and barbecue stations, the building – like many in Regent Park – features family-friendly amenities, including a Kids’ zone outfitted by Mastermind Toys. This space includes toys, books, puzzles, a craft room, play room and a clean-up counter.

Regent Park’s second phase, which is now completely built, brought an exceptional roster of community amenities to the area. These include brand-new athletic grounds, complete with a skating rink, soccer fields and a basketball court. A six-acre park anchors the entire community and features plenty of greenspace, community gardening plots and a splash pad and playground for kids. Next door is an aquatic centre, which offers a variety of classes and programs for all ages and lifestyles.

Probably one of the most-talked about features of Regent Park is Daniels Spectrum, a 60,000-squre-foot community and cultural hub that features galleries, along with arts and cultural programs, including the Regent Park Film Festival, the Collective of Black Artists (COBA) and Native Earth Performing Arts.

This a truly pedestrian-friendly community where bistros, coffee shops, banks and grocery stores are all integrated. Should you need to commute, the Don Valley Parkway is easily accessible, as are two 24-hour streetcar lines, which run through the community.
