Most notably, they created San Francisco Bay, another development in the region that included townhomes and three towers boasting lake views.

In addition to the development,, the neighbourhood has another exciting project on its way bound to put Pickering on the map. Durham Live is an anticipated 1 million square foot entertainment hub proposed close to the project site that will be a destination for dining, shopping and entertainment. It will include a hotel, film studio, casino, theatre, luxury stores, golf course, performance hall, gourmet dining and a waterpark.

Needless to say, the centre will make an incredible impact on the community, providing a destination for all things entertainment and culture. Investors will want to keep an eye on the area, especially as Durham Live is expected to open 10,000 jobs to the area -- and this upcoming master-plan community will be minutes away from the impending hub. The hub is proposed to stand at 1802 & 1902 Bayly Street and 2028 Kellino Road.

Nature lovers will also adore this community, as residents will also find themselves a 10-minute walk away from Frenchman's Bay on Lake Ontario. An Urban Growth Centre

You truly can’t go wrong with this area, as Pickering is one of only two municipalities in Durham Region to been deemed an “Urban Growth Centre.” In the Province’s Places to Grow Act, it’s also documented as a designated growth area.

The development is perfectly located in the neighbourhood, and is a walk away from Pickering GO station in South Downtown Pickering. The site boasts a walk score of 61 out of 100, and transit score of 59 out of 100.

The GO Train will get residents into the city in 28 minutes. Residents will also enjoy being under 35 minutes away from Union Station and Pearson Airport. Students will be able to seamlessly navigate travel into the city to study at the city’s major universities not limited to University of Toronto, Ryerson University and OCAD.

Similarly, single working professionals or professionals with families will love being removed in a quiet place in town, while also being able to travel into the city with ease. Professionals will find it of utmost convenience travelling to the city’s job hubs like the Financial District and Entertainment District. If you drive, you’ll find yourself with prime access to to Hwy 401,412,407 and 404.

Although transit and proximity to highways will make it easy to experience all the entertainment options the city has to offer, downtown Pickering is also packed with options. The development’s neighbourhood will include a variety of dining options, such as Debbie’s Boutique Cafe, Sakura Sushi, Paul Wong Fine, Pizza Pino and Bistro 36. The site is also minutes away from Pickering Town Centre, which also provide access to an endless list of retailers not limited to H&M, the Bay, Soft Moc and Aldo. The mall also boasts a a Cineplex movie theatre, ideal for a dinner-and-a-movie date night.

With an influx of developments and entertainment hubs headed its way, it’s no wonder why Pickering is expected to lead the GTA in growth over the course of the next 15 years. The region is expected to create a whopping 35,000 new jobs with the upcoming Seaton development, another 60,000 plus jobs with Dlive and other future developments and double its population. Currently, just under 100,000 people live in the neighbourhood. Currently, the average household income in the Pickering is $114,000, making it notable as home to largely affluent residents.
