Hurontario Neighbourhood

Hurontario is a cosmopolitan neighbourhood situated directly north of the Square One City Centre in Mississauga. It's known for a high number of manufacturing and science workers. Its borders are defined by Hurontario Street between Mavis Road to the west, Britannia Road to the north, and Highway 403 to the east and south. The location is popular amongst first time buyers, especially young families looking to grow into their home. This community is positioned in a great region, close to several highways and other primary roads.

The area is considered to be very family-oriented suburb. Most of Hurontario's new entrants are second-time purchasers looking for the aggregate of convenience and affordability sought after by so many maturing families. Others are new immigrants or professionals occupying the new condos that surround Hurontario Street and surrounding areas. Like the rest of the surrounding regions, ethnicities are extraordinarily mixed.

Hurontario is a vast district that envelops many different lifestyle options. There are older yet affordable apartments, as well as newer condominiums presently being built near the City Centre and beyond. There are also older detached homes and semis in the area. It has a populace of roughly 62,460, and it is growing exponentially due to the construction of new high-rise condominium developments and master-planned communities. The population growth has risen by 18% in the last few years, and the average family household income is currently $72,453. Homeownership is relatively high with 77% being owned and 22.7% being tenanted.

Hurontario Neighbourhood Life Style

Hurontario largely feature condos, accounting for 42% of sales, accompanied by detached houses at 23% and condo townhouses at 20%. Two-storey houses and condo apartments are the most common trends and the majority of properties have two bedrooms. The average price in Hurontario over the past year was $563,370, an increase of 19% over the same term last year. The average condo premium over the past year is $406,958, compared to the average freehold price of $854,993 over the same period.

Homes in this section of Mississauga are very convenient, because they are steps away from great amenities such as a variety of retailers, professional services, restaurants, cafes, and bars. Residents can also take advantage of the local green spaces afforded to them, like Heritage Hills Park and Greyshale Park. There are several elementary and secondary schools in this neighbourhood as well.

Despite the penchant for condos in this neighbourhood, it is still car friendly. Highways 401, 403, 407, and the QEW are nearby and easily reachable, thereby making it very convenient for motorists. With Square One in close proximity, however, commuters have access to Mississauga’s public transportation; Bus Rapid Transit, MiWay, and GO transit.

Hurontario remains affordable for the average family, however it is slightly higher than the average Mississauga price due to its location. Once the proposed Hurontario LRT is built, it will have a huge impact on the neighbourhood. The value of this neighbourhood is in its close proximity to the Mississauga City Centre. The continuous flourishing of Mississauga will bring many benefits to this neighbourhood. Beyond the principal streets, you will discover plenty of quiet pockets to call home. Needless to say, properties closer to public transportation and highways attract more buyers and reap higher prices. These are all reasons why you should make your strategic move now. Hurontario Neighbourhood

The planned Mississauga LRT that will run along Hurontario will absolutely increase the desire for this coveted location and have a positive effective impact on property values. Now, you can understand why many choose Hurontario as a happy medium neighbourhood. So, for those seeking to be close to Square One, but would prefer to be just outside of it, Hurontario is a solid alternative. This neighbourhood may be a good landing spot for you and your family.
