Shelburne’s Town Centre is located between two major roads which include Highway 10 and Highway 89. These two major roads can take commuters directly south towards the rest of the GTA including Orangeville which is a quick 20 minutes away, Caledon and Brampton which is just 40 minutes. Highway 89 also connects to the highway 400 series which makes commuting to further destinations in the city a breeze. This means that many commuters can also reach the City of Vaughan in just over an hour and the City of Toronto in an hour and a half.

Although transit by car is an ideal way to travel for commuters that live in the town and work just outside of it, there are also many other modes of transportation for those that want to travel within the local area.

Recently, Grey County established a partnership with Southgate to develop an innovative, “Made in Grey”, transit solution to meet the needs of Grey County residents. Grey Transit Route is a shuttle service that offers four routes in Grey County, two of which travel throughout the major parts of Shelburne. These routes run on Highway 10 and will travel to Owen Sound and Orangeville. The shuttle also makes important stops on the route including a Downtown Stop and North Stop that sits just outside of the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex.

This shuttle service is available five days a week between Monday and Friday and runs 12 hours a day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. This is a great alternative to a bus route as it gives residents the chance to commute around the town and to neighbouring towns. This shuttle service is a dependable and inexpensive way to travel around different communities and with future connections to other transit lines, the Grey Transit Route will be the perfect starting point for residents to travel to the GTA. by using a series of highways and transit connections, the Town of Shelburne is becoming a convenient place for commuters.
