This intersection has a Walkscore of 99/100 and a Transit Score of 100/100. This should make it pretty obvious that there’s plenty to do around here. If you head east from this intersection, you’ll be greeted with an array of takeout restaurants, most of which from Asian descent. Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines can all be found here. After walking for 10 minutes, you’ll encounter the Eaton Centre - Toronto’s primary shopping centre. This mall has 235 stores and services that encompass over 2 million square feet of floor space.

In The Heart Of The Downtown Core

If you head west, you’ll find another type of marketplace in Chinatown. As the name would suggest, this is the central location for the Chinese immigrants that come to Toronto, and it has become a vibrant and colourful market with exotic spices and windows adorned with hanging Peking ducks. This intersection is central to anything you need, no matter what it is.

This is also the location of St. Patrick Station. This subway station links up to the Yonge/University line, which loops around the Financial District and reaches up to North York. It also connect to the Bloor/Danforth line in 3 stops at St. George Station. From here, the entire GTA is at your doorstep.

One Of The Most Quintessentially Toronto Locations

Three of the city’s downtown campuses are located around this intersection, to the east is Ryerson University, which is only a 14 minute walk away. Ryerson has the Ted Rogers School of Management, and it houses the best business incubator in North America with DMZ. OCAD University is only a 6 minute walk away in the west. This is Canada’s largest and oldest art and design educational facility. Up north is the University of Toronto, which is regularly regarded as the best university in Canada. Together, these universities have over 100,000 students each year, making this junction a prime spot for income condos.

The University of Toronto is part of the Discovery District. This aptly named neighbourhood is the home of a tight cluster of hospitals. Toronto General Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital, and The Hospital for Sick Children are all located here.

This area is also incredibly close to some of GTA’s most treasured cultural landmarks. The Art Gallery of Ontario is located only five minutes away, and it is attached to Grange Park, which is full of sculptures. Toronto City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square is 1 block south from this intersection. This public square often hosts community events including New Year's Eve.

If you head one block south, you’ll encounter Queen Street West. This is one of the most famous corridors in the city. Queen West is synonymous with Toronto’s trendy restaurant and bar scene. It is also home to a wide variety of clothing stores that range from high end boutique shops to hip vintage clothing store. There’s a reason why Queen Street West is commonly regarded as one of the coolest streets in the entire world.

Dundas and University is at the centre of where you want to be. From here, you’ll have access to everything you could ever need. The Eaton Centre provides all of the conventional goods that you require, and Chinatown has all the unique spices and flavours that you may be looking for. Its transit stop and universities also make it a great spot for students and young professionals who are looking for somewhere convenient to live.
