High Park Neighbourhood

High Park is a quaint neighbourhood situated in the west end of Toronto. The area is marked by Runnymede Road, Bloor Street West, Humberside Avenue, Annette Street, Quebec Avenue and the CNR and CPR railway tracks on the east end. The High Park neighbourhood is home to a wide range of people, and it contains a diverse housing mix.

Families gravitate to the single family homes in the area, however there is also a large number of rental opportunities in High Park that appeal to singles and couples. It also offers a great selection of condominium apartments as well. The average family income for the area is roughly $133,796.

High Park largely features detached houses, accounting for 40% of sales, followed by condos at 34% and semi-detached houses at 18%. Condos are the most common trend, and the majority of properties have 3 bedrooms. The common price in High Park over the past year was $1,37,202, an increase of 23% over the same period last year. The average freehold price over the last year was $1,440,223 as compared to the average condo rate of $581,030 over the identical period.

Bloor West Village is conveniently located within walking distance to High Park, and this is where many independent shops, cafes and restaurants cater to many individuals' tastes. Currently there are mid-rise condo developments under construction along the stretch of Bloor Street West.

Condo Project in High Park Neighbourhood

Since 2011, the area has begun a huge transformation - newer condos are bringing a wave of young families and some singles and couples to the area. The population of the neighbourhood sits at 22,746, but this number will significantly rise as the upsurge of new developments are being built within the community.

You can get where you want to go in no time at all, since the neighbourhood is conveniently located right next to the subway line. It is served by Runnymede, High Park, Keele and Dundas West stations. The TTC operates local buses out of each station on a frequent basis. Motorists are approximately five minutes from the Queensway, which connects commuters to Lake Shore Boulevard and the Gardiner Expressway.

Of course, the neighbourhood is named for the grand park that sits on its southern borders.  High Park is the largest green space completely within the City of Toronto's borders.  It is home to Grenadier Pond and the cherry trees that bloom every spring.  The otherworldly sight of the soft pink blossoms is something that shouldn't be missed.

Whether you’re looking for a brand new condo or an existing low-rise home with plenty of character and history, this region is a welcoming community close to downtown that will suit your needs. It is known for its stunning views overlooking High Park or the pond, with the added bonus of a maintenance free lifestyle.  It is one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Toronto, and you can call it your home. It’s a neighbourhood that continually strives to provide unequaled cosmopolitan offerings, therefore it is no surprise that the High Park neighbourhood is highly sought after by homebuyers and investors alike.
