Condo Project Summary

This is a pre-construction condominium tower proposed by St. Thomas Developments for downtown Toronto’s Garden District neighbourhood. Expected to stand 28 storeys as it overlooks the vibrant Queen Street, this project has yet to specify an occupancy date.

It’s part of an exciting project that aims to transform a neglected stretch of downtown by adding residences, a boutique hotel, a public park and a shopping-and-dining-oriented breezeway. Expected to be a modern and luxurious addition to the neighbourhood, this Toronto condominium is a hotly-anticipated development and we’re keeping a close eye on it.

This project will eventually occupy the western portion of a site along Queen Street East, bound by Dalhousie, Mutual and Shuter Streets. In total, the site spans almost two acres and an entire city block.

The information we have so far indicates this particular tower will be approximately 27 storeys and house 317 residential units, including a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom layouts. It will be grounded by a mixed-use podium, featuring retail and restaurant space, along with the building’s amenities.

This tower is also proposed to be linked with its neighbouring tower with a series of “sky bridges,” an unusual feature that presents a unique and breathtaking way to enjoy the downtown streetscape and city skyline.

Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group, the towers in this community are expected to feature sleek facades with contemporary glazing, while local interior design firm Cecconi-Simone has signed on to handle the building’s lobbies and suites.

Details about amenities for this tower have yet to be released, but at least one other building in the community will feature a luxurious infinity pool on its rooftop terrace, and given the developer’s penchant for luxury features, we’re betting this one will have similar perks.
Upon completion, the community as a whole will be known as 88 Queen and will also feature a boutique hotel, professionally-landscaped courtyard and a retail-and-restaurant-lined pedestrian mews.

Downtown Toronto condominiums make great places to call home, and this particular stretch, known as the Garden District, is one of the most exciting.

Ideally situated in the city’s core, it scores a perfect 100 on its Transit Score and a 99 on its Walk Score, indicating that almost every urban convenience is within walking distance.
