Welcome to Leaside

There’s a new light rail transit system that’s going to transform the northern reaches of the city into the new core of the city. The Eglinton Crosstown LRT will be a new transit line that travels down the Eglinton corridor. It will expedite the public transit down the street, and we also expect that it will invigorate new development across the entire corridor.

One thing that should really excite people about condos and other developments around this intersection is that it will be the location of the Leaside transit station. The will connect all nearby residents with the rest of the city.

This intersection is located in the Leaside neighbourhood in Toronto. It’s on the northeastern corner of Toronto Proper’s boundaries, almost bordering into North York. It’s largely characterized as a suburban neighbourhood that’s filled with low-rise houses, but that’s all about to change with the introduction of the Eglinton Crosstown. By having superior access to the rest of the downtown core, we expect more developments to begin popping up in the neighbourhood.

Minute Away From An Emerging Employment Hub

This is a quiet neighbourhood and its position on the Eglinton line shows a lot of potential. Yonge and Eglinton is finding itself in an increasingly central role in the city of Toronto’s layout. The Financial District is traditionally known as the employment centre in the GTA, but as the city continues to expand, there are new employment centres emerging throughout the entire city. Each one of the official administrative areas, North York, Etobicoke, and Scarborough, have a designated employment centre, and Toronto has two. The Financial District is the first, and Yonge and Eglinton is the second. In 2017, it was able to add 1,350 jobs, and it’s the most dense employment centre in the city with 31,000 jobs per square kilometer. The Leaside stop will only be two stops away from Eglinton Station.

In addition to being an employment centre, Eglinton will allow people to transfer onto Line 1 Yonge/University. This means that people will be able to easily travel across the entire city. They will have direct access to the Financial District or North York Centre, putting even more jobs within reach.
